“They are a good people, keep their galaxy safe and are admired by all the different races in their galaxy. Their females were dying off and no more were being born so they searched for compatible females through many galaxies. Humans are the only race with compatible genes, so they kidnapped thousands of girls. They treated us well, but we were there to be bred from. Because they have a history with us, and they hate the Xenorrii, they decided to help Earth and are doing their best to rebuild it. However I craved human company so when I got the chance I left and came here”.

The man frowned “But why bring you here, into a conflict. If you are important to them surely they would have left you somewhere safe. Your story doesn’t ring true”.

Jo thought quickly “I am a nurse and help their doctors, so that’s why. But my mate who I had got used to died in battle, and I would have been forced to take another and have more children. I didn’t want to so I left”.

The men laughed and smirked at her and one said “Rather have a man between your legs than an alien”.

Jo looked at them aghast, `surely not?` She was in serious trouble, how stupid to think of men as decent and honourable, especially in these conditions. There weren’t enough women here for each man to have one as his wife.

“I thought I’d be safe with fellow humans,” she said.

“And you will be. The aliens don’t seem to want to bother us and we have plenty of game to hunt. Berries and greens grow wild and the river provides water and fish. You won’t go hungry and you’ll have to do your share of the work. It’s up to you whether you take a man but if you don’t you’ll have to feed yourself, or sell yourself to any man who wants you, for food. We can’t have free loaders here if we are to survive and carry on the human race”.

Jo couldn’t control her shock “But I don’t want to have a man or sell myself. I came here to be free”.

“You are free, but you have to understand, men need a women, and if we are to survive as a people we need children in the same way as the aliens do. I don’t think that you could survive by yourself so I insist that you take one man. After being at the mercy of an alien male a man will be a pleasure”.

Jo opened her mouth to refuse but the leader held up his hand and turned to one of the others. “Call the men to a meeting, all those who haven’t got a woman and let’s get this sorted straight away”.

  “No, I refuse, I won’t do it”.

“You will or you’ll die, so shut up and strip”.

Jo gasped, no way, shaking her head she looked around for a way out. Before she could decide what to do, men were streaming into the cabin, dozens of them, many pushing forward to get a good look at her.

“Let’s see what we are bartering for then Jake,” one shouted, and their leader stepped up to Jo. “Don’t fight me, I don’t want to hurt you”.

Taking hold of her tunic he pulled it over her head, restraining her easily, then he removed her trousers and lifted her up onto the table. As he stepped back he drew in a breath that whistled over his teeth.

There was silence in the room as the men were struck by her beauty. Jo put one hand over her breasts and the other over her sex, trembling with embarrassment at being naked in front of such hungry and lascivious eyes.

Jake took in a breath “Auction over, this one is for me. Sorry guys but I have let you all have first dibs on the women. This one will be the mother of my children”.

Then he lifted Jo down and dropped her tunic over her head. There were grumbles from the men and Jake looked round and asked “Anyone want to fight me for her?”

Many of the men grumbled but no one challenged him. He was their leader by strength as well as intelligence. As the men filed out the ones who were obviously Jakes lieutenants cracked jokes and slapped him on his shoulder “Sure you remember what to do?” one joked, while another said “Just shout if you need any help”.

Then they left leaving Jo alone with him. She looked for her trousers and when she found them tried to pull them on, but he was beside her, in an instant, taking them out of her hands. Then he ripped her tunic off again.

  “No” Jo gasped.

“I’m afraid that it’s yes. You are one beautiful woman, no way have you had four children. What other lies have you told me?”

“None,” Jo whispered trying to back away from him.

Reaching out his hand Jake cupped her breast “You are no older than eighteen, twenty, had your first child at thirteen, did you? Are the aliens paedophiles then?”

“Life is different on Scerior, we were looked after as if we were prize broodmares”.

“And you hated it so much you ran away!”

“I told you, I didn’t want to take another male”.

“Then you made a big mistake coming here”. Jake growled pulling her towards him and lowering his mouth to hers. As she struggled he gripped the nape of her neck and cupping her bottom with his other hand pressed her to his large erection.

As he removed his mouth from her she gasped “Please don’t rape me”.

Still holding her close he nuzzled into the sensitive spot under her ear and said “I’ve never raped a woman in my life, never had to, you will come to me willingly, that is a promise”.

Then he bent down picked up her clothes and handed them to her. “What is your name and why are you here?”

Jo quickly dragged on her trousers and tunic and said “I don’t understand. Why did you claim me if you don’t want to fuck me?”

“Oh I desperately want to fuck you, but I’m not a rapist. When you beg me to make love to you then I will make you scream with desire. Now sit down and tell me the truth”.

Jo sank down into a chair while Jake poured them a cup of coffee.

“I’ve told you the truth apart from the fact that my mate isn’t dead. We’ve been together for ten years, since I was eighteen, and I loved him dearly. But he has changed since we came to Earth, he’s lost his love for me and become harsh and dictatorial. You see he is the ruler of Scerior and now has total dominance over the rebuilding of Earth. He can’t understand why we mourn losing our heritage, or rather the ancient buildings that have been there for centuries. He won’t listen to me anymore and when I refused to make love with him he beat me and raped me. I told him the first time he took me against my will that I’d never forgive him if he did it again. He really smacked me hard and so I left him. I was his mate his future queen and he treated me as if I was a slave”.

Jake rang his fingers through his hair “My god he’ll kill us all when he finds you!”

“He doesn’t know where I am”.

“You bloody fool, these aliens have technology we can’t even imagine. He will be on his way here now. We must disappear”.

“He won’t kill you, he’s not like that”.

“Then he truly doesn’t love you. If you were my woman I’d crucify any man I thought had touched you. You stupid spoilt bitch, all these people depend on me to keep them safe. I have to act now”.

Going to the door he flung it open and shouted for his men. When nobody appeared he stepped outside, then reeled back as a beam of light flashed to earth in front of him and a monster was standing there. Surging backwards he tried to slam the door but a large armoured fist knocked the door back on him and the monster strode into the cabin.

Jo jumped in front of Jake shouting “Acorus, he hasn’t hurt me, don’t kill him!”

Jake was trying to reach his gun but Jo picked it up and flung it to Acorus. As he caught it he growled “So you still trust me not to kill your lover”.

“What! He’s not my lover, you know me better than that”.

Acorus changed to Sceria “And yet his fellow humans have told me that he has taken you as his. He will die slowly and you will be punished”.

Jo was furious and picking up the coffee pot
threw it at him as Jake looked on in amazement. Acorus ducked it easily and reaching out his hand took hold of her and pulled her to him. As she hit his armour she shrieked with pain and he relaxed his hold.

“You pig let me go. Jake is a better man than you are, he had me at his mercy and was a gentleman, not a rapist like you!”

Acorus pulled her to one side as two of his soldiers entered and took hold of Jake. Tying his wrists together they dragged him out of the cabin shouting “If you have hurt any of my people I will kill you”.

“Don’t hurt him or his people Acorus, they’re good people”.

“You no longer have the right to tell me what to do!”

“Just because you are angry with me doesn’t mean you can hurt them”. Jo cried.

Acorus slammed the door shut and turned back into the cabin, removing his helmet. Then he turned to Jo and said “Here undo my armour”.

Jo tensed, what was he going to do? But she took the armour opener from him and slid it down his back. As he stepped out of it Jo stepped away from him watching him warily.

“There is a pack just outside the door, bring it to me”.

She opened the door and stepping out looked around for humans or Sceriae. At the bottom of the steps was a large soldier’s pack so she went down and picked it up. It was heavy and she struggled to carry it up the steps. Glancing up she found Acorus standing just inside the cabin, in all his male impressiveness. As usual when he was near Jo he had an impressive erection, and she swallowed nervously even as her sex moistened. Handing the pack to him she asked “Where are the humans and your soldiers?”

Acorus frowned “Still daring to question me even though you lost that right by leaving me. You are either very brave or very foolish, my lady”.

Jo straightened her spine and snapped “You know I am no fool, my lord general”.

He frowned and bent down to open the pack, pulling out a shirt and trousers. As he put them on he was gazing at Jo with a hard look in his eyes.

“Have you eaten since you left me?”

  “No”.

“There is food in the pack, take some out and lay it on the table. We will eat before we talk”.

“Why are you keeping me here?” Jo demanded.

“I said we will eat before we talk, for once do as you’re told”.

Jo humphed and set about taking containers out of the pack. As she took the lids off a couple the smell of delicious food caused her stomach to growl. She was starving. Sitting in one of the chairs she forked the food up into her mouth, salivating at the taste. Acorus watched her in secret amusement, then he joined her at the table, he’d been too worried about her to eat so he was very hungry too.

They ate quietly until their hunger was sated; pouring them a drink Acorus gazed at her and said “When I discovered you were gone, I was crazy with worry. If you had been killed or injured because of me I couldn’t have gone on with the rebuilding of Earth. You are the most important thing in my life, I only came to help this planet because of you, and it has caused me to push you away. I’m sorry that I took my frustration out on you, your body was the only thing that kept me grounded, and I abused it. Humans drive me crazy, especially their leaders. It seems, to me, that their importance is more important than their people. They say all the right words in public and plot against each other in private. They don’t think of themselves as human but as American, British, German, French, etc. However lady Tchu pointed out, in heated words for her, you are not to blame. I know it has been as difficult for you as it is for me, so please forgive me, my Lady Jo-Anna, I can’t be happy without you”.

Jo’s eyes filled with tears “I know how difficult it has been for you, life here is so different from Scerior, but you know, you have had bad people on Scerior, it isn’t only humans who can be selfish and self serving. But that is no excuse for how you have treated me, I have stood by you through everything, even when I didn’t always think that your way was the right way. I can forgive you for being distant with me, but not for the way you have just used my body, or for the fact that you hit me to hurt me, then took me against my will. Every time I disagree with you I will be worried that you will do it again, and I can’t live like that”.

“Jo, we have been together for ten years, overcome many problems and you know that I didn’t use anything like my full strength on you when I smacked your bottom. As for taking you against your will, your body always says yes to me, even when your brain is saying no. I have taken you many times when at first you said no only to change it, to please when I was loving you. Don’t throw our love away for the fact that I am an idiot!”

Acorus got up and moved round the table to kneel in front of Jo’s chair. When she looked up at him with tears streaming down her cheeks, he put his arms around her waist and pulled her towards him.

“Forgive me Jo, I can’t rebuild your planet without your help. In my exasperation I shut you out, I didn’t mean to and I’ll never do it again. I need you to keep me on the right path and to show me what is right for humans not Sceriae”.

As he pulled her into his arms Jo laid her head on his shoulder and cried harder.

“Please don’t cry Jo, you never cry, I could cut my heart out that I have made you feel like this. Please say that you forgive me”.

“I can’t immediately forgive you, but I will try to eventually. We will have to rebuild our relationship before I can trust you completely again. I know that humans are difficult for you to understand or work with, and I want to work alongside you, but you must never treat me as you have lately, or use my body purely for your own relief. I need to be loved before I am taken”.

Lifting her chin Acorus found her mouth with his and kissed her sweetly and gently. As she responded his lips became firmer and more demanding as he slipped his tongue into her mouth caressing her lips and inner cheeks seductively. Eventually Jo couldn’t help responding as his body and delicious male odour weaved its usual spell on her.

Acorus lifted his mouth from hers and said “Jo I want you but if it is too soon, tell me”.

“This isn’t the place to make love Acorus. Let’s go home so I can shower and we’ll be safe and comfortable”.

“You’re right, I’ll call my ship back,” and he got up to go to his armour.

Before he could reach it the cabin door swung open with a large bang. Standing in the doorway were three rough looking men with a dozen more standing in front of the cabin. Jo yelped and Acorus pushed her behind him.

The middle man scowled and asked “Where is Jake and the others from this camp?”

Acorus had tensed as if he would attack the men, but wisdom prevailed and he said “We don’t know, we just got here ourselves and found the place deserted”.

Moving further into the cabin the man said “Who are you and where have you come from?”

“We were hiding out in the Big Sheep canyon area when we saw a group of people in the distance and we managed to track them here, only to find this place empty. Are you members of this group?”

The man laughed “No way, they’re too nervous to join us. We fight aliens, this is our country and we aim to take it back. We check in here every so often for some R and R”.

“My name’s Adam and this is my wife Jacki. There is food in some of the cabins, we might as well have it, if this group has gone”. Acorus held out his hand to be shaken.

“I’m Josh and these two are Buddy and Skunk. We’re members of the Montana Militia, and I’m their sergeant”.

As they stepped further into the cabin Acorus watched them tensely, keeping Jo behind him. Josh suddenly did a double take and raised his gun “Christ, did you kill it?” he said pointing at Acorus’s armour which was standing by itself.

“No it was here when we came in. I didn’t know what to do with it”.

  The three men circled the
armour cautiously, when Josh prodded it and it fell over they jumped back raising their guns.

“Fuck, it’s empty!” Skunk gasped “Do you think they lose their skins like snakes?”

“Could be” Acorus said keeping a straight face while Jo stifled a giggle behind him.

Buddy was poking around on the table “This is the shit they eat, they must have left in a hurry, and look this looks like a soldier’s backpack”.

There were more containers of food in the pack but nothing to give Acorus away. However he couldn’t keep Jo hidden for ever and when the men saw her there were whistles and crude comments. Jo didn’t rise to the bait and kept a calm look on her face but Acorus growled “Have some manners, this is my wife and I’ll take the head off anybody who doesn’t treat her right”.

“Take it easy, we don’t mean anything by it. Just not many women around and I have to say she is a beauty”.

Before Acorus could respond there was a shout from outside and the men turned to see what was happening.

“There’s a bloody big alien ship on its way over here”.

Josh peered out of the door and shouted “Everybody away, take whatever food you can grab, and into the scrub”.

Turning back to Acorus and Jo he ordered “You come with us, it’s not safe here anymore”.

Acorus cursed under his breath, his ship was so close yet he couldn’t contact it, his concern over Jo had made him sloppy. To be caught without his armour on and without weapons would have had one of his soldiers punished. If he didn’t agree to go with Josh it might get him and Jo killed. While he hesitated Jo pretended to become hysterical and fell to the floor against Acorus’s armour. Fumbling in the sleeve she found the pocket that contained his communicator. When her fingers closed around it she looked up at Acorus, her eyes begging him to cover for her. He bent over and shielded her from Josh’s gaze and she pushed it into his pocket. Then he picked her up in his arms and followed the men out of the cabin. The men were melting into the scrub, quietly in twos and threes, and Acorus followed Josh along a path that seemed to disappear into the rock. As they followed the old Indian trails Acorus realised why groups of humans had escaped the Xenorii and eluded his patrols. He could hear the humming of his ship long before he could see it or it could see them. He could learn a lot from these human soldiers, all he had to do was keep himself and Jo safe, then he could find out what was going on with the humans out here.
